This was the second year in succession that a Cesare Aldo novel has been nominated for the Historical Dagger, a prize for the best novel set at least fifty years prior to its publication. THE DARKEST SIN was one of a six books up for the Historical Dagger, competing with novels by acclaimed authors such as Anna Mazzola and Leonora Nattrass. The second Cesare Aldo novel has been shortlisted for an award by the Crime Writers’ Association of Great Britain.
